CHEVRONS & ESV

Being seen keeps people safe. When needed we design, make and fit Chapter 8 rear chevrons, conspicuity/contour tapes (ECE 104) and emergency liveries that meet the practical requirements for vehicles working on or near live roads. If you’re not sure what you need, just tell us how and where the vehicle is used and we’ll specify the right film, pattern and coverage. We supply and fit pre-cut kits for most vans, pickups, plant and HGVs, and we can create one-off templates in-house when no off-the-shelf kit exists. From highways maintenance to ambulance and other blue-light support (where authorised), we produce clean, compliant installs that last.

What we supply

  • Rear chevron kits (red retroreflective + fluorescent yellow/green)

  • Contour/conspicuity tape for sides/rear (ECE 104 styles)

  • Battenburg and emergency liveries (authorised clients only)

  • Plant & equipment markings (MEWPs, gritters, trailers, sweepers, dumpers, diggers)

  • Magnetic or rigid plate panels (where suitable)

  • Supply-only pre-cut kits or full design + installation

Materials & options

  • Microprismatic reflective films for high night-time visibility

  • Fluorescent day-bright films (note: naturally shorter lifespan than standard colours)

  • R3B Class fully compliant reflective films (our default spec)

Emergency services support

Since 2024 we’ve supported a local department with design and production of certain emergency kits, all produced in-house to an agreed specification. We can maintain, repair or replace damaged panels and supply replacement sections quickly to keep vehicles operational. (Blue-light liveries supplied to authorised clients only.)

How it works

  1. Brief & photos – tell us the vehicle model/year and how it’s used.

  2. Spec & proof – we propose film types, coverage and layout with a clear visual.

  3. Manufacture – pre-cut panels made in-house or ordered from our suppliers for a clean fit.

  4. Install or ship – fitted at your site/ours, or shipped as a labelled kit with instructions.

  5. Aftercare – cleaning and edge-care guidance; fast replacements if a panel gets damaged.

FAQs

Do I legally need Chapter 8?
Chapter 8 is guidance, but many highway/utility contracts require it. It also supports your duty of care and reduces risk when stopping on live roads.

Reflective vs fluorescent, what’s the difference?
Reflective = bright at night under headlights. Fluorescent = extra visible in daylight/low light. Chevrons typically use both.

Can you do magnetic chevrons?
Yes providing your doors are steel and fairly flat. For aluminium/plastic or curved panels, we recommend removable vinyl panels or rigid plates fixed to existing points

How long will it last?
Typical reflective films offer 3–5 years depending on use; fluorescent pigments weather faster. We’ll match the film grade to your required lifespan.

I can’t find a kit for my model can you still help?
Yes. We template and produce one-off kits in-house.
